Accounts Assistant
This is a temp-perm position therefore you must be available immediately! It's a great opportunity to work in a fast paced, busy company in central Washington.
Duties: Enter purchase invoices/expense claims on to purchase ledger ensuring authorisation received and entry to correct expense line. Also checking Tax calculation Keep record of outgoing purchase orders Update purchase order spreadsheet as purchase orders are raised and returned to Finance department Match purchase invoices to purchase orders where relevant Raise payment for purchase invoices in the correct manner telegraphic transfer, BACS payment or cheque payment, checking appropriate level of authorisation Raise Euro payments as and when required Ensure that payment authorisers are informed when payments are ready for processing and that payments are in place in time for strict daily deadlines
Update cash book for payments made each day Collect cheque receipts each day and enter details into paying in book Take receipts and paying in book to bank and get book stamped Enter cash receipts into cash book each day Prepare journals for cashbook for entry into general ledger Post journals into general ledger system Allocate cash receipts to relevant lease contacts and unpaid items
Maintain information relating to lease terminations Assist Financial Controller in preparation of monthly management pack Assist Financial Controller with monthly Tax return Maintain control of ALL authorisation lists Prepare Bank reconciliation for all 10 Accounts
Process Direct Debit Collections on Lease software, excel, bank DD system Process refunds on lease software and sage accounts package Assist Financial Controller with Ad hoc tasks The successful candidate should be, above all, numerate and able to handle a flexible environment with variable workloads and tight daily deadlines. The individual should be outgoing, enthusiastic, flexible and able to work in the changing entrepreneurial atmosphere of this small / medium sized business. The candidate should have experience of MS Office, in particular EXCEL and be used to a fast moving, busy office environment.
Salary: £20-25,000
